Mandatory Suicide (Hanging Boy) Shirt

This is the infamous "Mandatory Suicide" shirt, although it has been often reffered to as the "Hanging Boy shirt". The shirt caused some controversy back in 1988 when it was released to accompany the release of "South Of Heaven".

The front picture was also featured on the 1988 promotional single for "Mandatory Suicide" (check Singles & Promos for details).

The back of the shirt displays the letter from a military academy directed to the parents of the "hanging boy". It says that there's absolutely nothing allowed in the academy including records, radio etc. And worst of all, you need to get your hair cut.

So the only way for the kid is to commit suicide by hanging himself. A whole new interpretation of "Mandatory Suicide" isn't it ;-)

This shirt is pretty rare and receives fairly high prices on ebay, even when it is ripped and has holes in it. If you really want this shirt you should plan to spend several hundred dollars.
