It started with me and my two friends getting to the show at the scheduled door opening time. Wouldn't you know it, but the doors weren't open, and a line was from the doorway all the way down the block! The venue the show was at, called Harpo's, is an old movie theatre, and has seen many concerts, but I doubt if ever there were that many people in the place. It was packed!

We all awaited System of a Down in style, pitting to metal videos on projection screens around the place, and just going crazy all over the floor. The skinheads had their fun as well, beating up this stupid ass who thought he could take two of them. Idiot.

Anyway, System of a Down comes out, and plays a decent show. Not my thing, but reasonably heavy, and with enough aggression to get the body moving a bit. Somewhat disappointing, because I am just waiting to surge all over the place, but they were a good enough band.

Again, more videos during the intermission, and the Stanley Cup Finals as well, with our Red Wings stomping some Capital ass! Beer started flying all over the place, as did the usual shirts and hats. It's funny to think of that, and of all the people who don't have any clothes.

Clutch came out next, and played a decent show, though if you've seen Clutch once, you've seen them enough. No change from the last time I saw them, except for new songs off of their new album, but pretty much the same thing. Didn't stop people from throwing themselves every which way, though. Fists were another thing moving around. I myself got a few good shots in.

Finally, after waiting forever, Slayer hit the stage, and the place erupted. Fists, elbows, bodies, lights, sweat, man, this was a pit! Energy came and went, and came again, as surge after surge of the pit refreshed and exhausted the crowd. Some fuckhead jumped off the stack of speakers onto the stage, and had his ass launched onto the floor by some big ass bouncers. A thrown shirt struck the mike stand, knocking it into Tom Araya's mouth, causing him to give a resounding "Yeah, fuck you too, buddy" which the crowd erupted to. Even in between songs was bad ass, as they talked it up with the best, promising a return show in August.

All in all, a supremely bad ass show. Worth the 24.00 I paid for it. Can't wait till next time. And the set! I can't remember all of it, but here is what I remember, obviously not in correct order.

Set List
- Stain of Mind
- South Of Heaven
- Dead Skin Mask
- Mandatory Suicide
- Angel of Death
- War Ensemble
- Raining Blood
- Hell Awaits

Plus at least six or seven more, with one of them being another song off the new album. With the amount of time Slayer spent on stage, they provided one hell of a show. Now I can finally say I've seen a Slayer show, and know exactly what they are all about. Give me it again!
