June 11th 2000 Monza Brianteo Stadium Italy
Review
On June 10th and 11th took place in Monza, Italy at the Brianteo Stadium the Gods of Metal Festival 2000. The first day the headliners were "Iron Maiden" and the second day the mighty "SLAYER"! I went both days, but of course I will review just the second one. A real total massacre!

There were some other heavy bands like Kovenant, In Flames, Slipknot (fuckin' insane) and Testament (the best after Slayer). Around 9:20 pm the light was beginning to fade away, and it could do nothing but leaving its place to who made the darkness their companion for many years: SLAYER!

They started suddenly with "War Ensemble", it was as a ton hammer in the face. Kerry and Jeff were wearing black leather pants and also Kerry for the first 3 songs played with the nail-spiked armbands!!! Fuckin' awesome! The impact was terrifying! The sound was incredebly high as the speed of execution! The people started to going crazy in the pit. It was a really killing field. The numerous security hardly could keep the crow down because of many body-surfings!

All the band was in an excellent shape. The second song was "Evil has no boundaries" played together with "Hell awaits". After a couple of songs from Diabulus arrived the heaviest and fuckin' destroying part that I ever heard and felt in my life! Postmortem (with the fast final part as in D.O.A.), Raining blood and Dittohead all of them one after the other. Ten minutes of a real massacre!!!

Then Tom Araya said: "We are gonna play a new song...this is the song about the band Slayer...because HERE COMES THE PAIN!!! Wow, it was much much more heavy than in the studio version. I really liked it. Soon after, Slayer played "Necrophiliac" from Hell awaits. What a sursprise!!! After this they kept on playing some other classics as "Dead skin mask", "Mandatory suicide", "Chemical Warfare" played with an unbearable speed until the conclusion with "Angel of Death".

The concert finished at 10:45 pm. The Gods of Metal Festival 2000 was over. The 14000 fans arrived just for SLAYER were devastated and enraptured at the same time!!!

In the conclusion I wanna say: I've had a lot of experience about heavy concerts. I have seen more that 40 of them. Many heavy bands as Pantera (3 times), Fear Factory (3), Testament (2), Machine Head (2), Cradle of Filth, Suicidal Tendencies (4) and many others.....nobody is like Slayer! I have seen them 3 times! I can spend 1000 words trying to explain a Slayer concert, but if you have never experienced it you will never understand. I stayed with 2 friends 14 hours (it rained for 4 hours) in the front row just to wait the Mighty Fuckin Slayer!!! If someone think that there are other bands better that Slayer live.......well try and go in the first row or in the pit during a Slayer concert so everyone will understand why Slayer rules this fuckin World!!! Nothing can be compared to them.
