I am writing this just after getting back from the
Slayer gig at the Glasgow Barrowlands (July 3rd 2000). Unfortunately things did
not go off to a good start, with the opening band being Nashville Pussy
who quite honestly were total shite and could not play there instruments to save
themselves, fortunately I got in a bit late (the queue was massive) and
thankfully missed most of there set.
Fineally when they did leave after a long wait Slayer took to the stage (the first time in six years in Scotland) starting off with War Ensemble, and once started there was no looking back, straight into the mosh pit I went (which was crazy). Slayer went through a substantial set which included a brand new song (I am not sure of the title) [Here comes the pain - editors note], to which the crowd did not take too at first (the song started a bit slow) but once the we got into it we went fucking mental. Unfortunately the concert could not last forever (although I do not think anyone would have given a shit if it did) and had to end. Overall the gig had a great set abd must be one of the best gig's I have ever been too (even comparasble to the Sepultura Gig on the 16th Of December 1996, true Sepulturta fans should recognise the date). I look forward to the returning. |
