First off, Sepultura came out after the last 2nd stage band and started
ripping things up opening with "Roots bloody roots". After their set was
just about over, it started to rain and everybody from the lawn stormed
toward the stage including me and a couple of my friends.
Next Sevendust came on and were rocking it hard especially when the went into a cover of Pantera's walk. Then it was just about showtime. One of the people who came with me was going around to the whole crowd and yelling at them to get up cause Slayer was coming. Of course all the little 13 and 14 year olds were looking weird at him and us 'cause the little people were only there for Slipknot. Well, since we didn't make it to the stage, we were stuck in this box section where a couple of us were standing on chairs to see, right next to the Slipknot fans. Right when Slayer kicked into their first song, one of the kids got kicked off his chair and fell. I have never seen so many chairs get thrown out of the way before. I think there was a bigger pit where we were than there was anywhere on the floor. Well some people got scared and ran off when we were trying to tear the metal bars out of the floor. None of the chaos stopped until after they ended with Angel of Death. Then the curtain went up to hide Slipknot's set. I had never really heard them before besides "Wait and Bleed". And besides, after a true metal band just got off the stage, why would you wanna see a buch of clowns. Anyways this country song came over the PA talking about satan then the curtain dropped and they went into "sic", the clown dove into the crowd right away. That is when we decided to head for the car knowing they were there for the theatrics, and not the music. So needless to say, once again Slayer "Reigned Blood". |
