What a shitty time to put Slayer on, 2PM. I think Slayer must thrive on
out-playing the newer bands because no other band with a career such as
theirs would stand for being put on for a 25-minute set.
After watching the first few bands on Slayer hit the stage like a neutron bomb! Kicking off their set with "South Of Heaven" and into "War Ensemble" there seemed to be a feeling in the air that Slayer were just gonna play the older stuff and skip the stuff from the newly released "Diabolus In Musica". Although the chants for "Stain Of Mind" were deafening, the band played "Death's Head" which seemed to go down well and the band played a blistering version of "Altar Of Sacrifice" into "Jesus Saves". Today was a no-thrills set, the songs were played as tight as you could find on their albums and in my opinion were probably the best band of the day. |
