Slayer definitely ruled this show hands down. They opened right away with God Send Death and the rush towards the stage was total chaos, definitely a pit song.

Right off the bat, they had sound problems. The system started cracking and popping from the volume of it all. Personally, I like it better when they headline smaller venues but you take what you can get, right? They went right into Death's Head....some more cracking and popping from the speaker system.

After that, Araya took a very brief moment to let everyone know that "the set is going to be rushed because apparently we're taking up too much time". I think alot of people secretly wished for Pantera to drop dead back stage. Reign in Blood followed but I didn't get to see much of the band during this because I was way too busy dodging flying people.

I caught a glimpse of somebody being escorted out and their arm was bent in a way that arms don't usually bend. Dead Skin Mask was next followed by Bloodline. These two songs managed to open up some nice meaty pits in places that pits usually don't open up...near the back of the floor. Scott Ian and Benante were hanging by the sound board watching and probably wishing they could generate a pit like that.

Bostaph lost it alittle during War Ensemble and the sound system started really crapping out. They took a really short break before kicking into Mandatory Suicide, South of Heaven, Chemical Warfare and finally (as usual) Angel of Death. I don't know what was up with Bostaph but he slopped his solo during Angel too.

My friend turned to me with this look on his face like he caught a whiff of some rank chicken when he fucked up. It sucked that it was such a short set but it was cool to see Slayer again.
