Review
Man what a fucking show. The two greatest metal bands on earth playing together on one night. Truely a night to remember. My friends and I got to the show a little late b/c we were from Oklahoma and had to get directions to the Smirnoff Music Center from the comp. But Yahoo fucked us over and we got lost. But we finally got to the show around 6:20, just in time to catch Morbid Angel's last two songs. Now I saw Morbid with Pantera last time they came through, and they are just the fucking kings of their genre. They flat out kick major ass. Two songs from them were better than the next two sets combined.

Anyway the weak ass Skrape came out next. Not much I can say that already hasnt been said. They just sucked. They had some of the Static-X fans going but the whole rapping thing doesnt do it for me.

Static-X was up next. I'm not a real big fan of them but they put on a pretty energetic performance. Their bass player is all energy. But that whole TechnoMetal stuff isnt all that great. They could be a lot better if they just dump all that shit and get into some real fucking metal.

Then the light of day succumbed to the darkness that is Slayer. A big ass chant of Slayer echoed throughout the arena. Then the triplet drum beats blast through out and the first riff of Raining Blood hit. You have never seen so many people burst into fit of violence in all your life. It was nuts, all the floor was a pit. Then they played one of my favs, Chemical Warfare. People were getting carried out of the pit left and right. They played some kick ass shit from the new record to. Disciple is the only one that I can really remember. Tom said something pretty cool about the new album to "We have a new record coming out, its called God Hates Us All, expecially you mother fuckers right here" Their set seemed so fucking short, but I was glad that they didnt expierience any sound problems like some of the others. And they of course closed with the mighty mighty Angel of Death.

After that my friends and I went for something to drink, everyone was saying that Pantera had a real job ahead of them, it would take a fucking miracle to come on after that set.

Anyway Pantera hit the stage, and since it is their home town the crowd was pretty amped. But in no song did they ever get a pit as violent or as wide spread as Slayer. At the begining of the set Phil came out and said "We are the fucking Kings of Metal, Pantera!!" Well if they are the kings of metal, then Slayer are the ageless Gods of all that is Metal. Pantera is truely awesome, but they should have given Slayer more time. But with the time they gave Slayer, they truely ripped it up. Overall they were about even in performance. But if Slayer had more time they would have definitely come out on top. But it was the greatest expierience of my young life. Not to be missed by anyone.
