Arrived pretty late at the venue at 7.30 to find out that "The Haunted" just started their set. I kinda liked their first albums, but seeing them live wasn't all that great. They ended their set at 8.15 to make way for Slayer.

It took another 30 minutes until the intro for "World Painted Blood" was played through the PA and Slayer walked on stage to go right into "World Painted Blood". The audience was really into it and for a new song "World Painted Blood" got a good crowd reaction. "Hate Worldwide" followed, which kicks way more ass live than it does on the album.

"Cult" and "Disciple" were next to be followed by "War Ensemble" which always gets a good reaction by the crowd. Next up was a little surprise (well kinda, I knew they were going to play it), "Expendable Youth" off "Seasons in the Abyss". It was really cool to hear that song live.

"Jihad", "Payback" and "Beauty Through Order" came next, I really liked "Beauty Through Order" live, the song kicks major ass. After that Slayer concentrated on their classics and the whole place got even more wild. "Seasons in the Abyss" was receveied absolutely killer by the crowd, followed by "Hell Awaits".

"Mandatory Suicide", "Chemical Warfare" and of course "Raining Blood" which went straight into "Aggressive Perfector". Pretty cool to catch that song live. The encore was "South of Heaven", "Silent Scream" and "Angel of Death". After that Tom thanked everyone and the guys threw a few picks and drumsticks into the crowd and left.

A really good show in my opinion, you could tell that Slayer had fun playing and were really into it. The crowd was awesome that night, even the new songs were received really good. Toms interaction with the crowd was a minimum, the usual "thank you, thank you very much", but that's cool ;-)
